rom-com fall downs

ok. I have a few questions that wont have answers...but....why the EFF!, does every single trailer for a romantic comedy have to have the following two things:

1. The song "Love Song" by Sara Bareilles that begins half way through the trailer and continues to the end.

2. People FALLING. why is that FUNNY!?!?!??!?! i do NOT understand. that is NOT funny!!!! People see it and turn to their husband/wife and say "Honey, we should see that that looks funny!"

and then, my friend Rachel pointed out the fact that people bungee jumping in movies like signifies growth and overcoming obstacles. Which, made me laugh for like 20 minutes..and i knew i had seen queen latifah bungee jump once. found it!
